Bio
Background:
As a teenager, Andy fell in love with fashion photography of the 1940s, 50s and early 60s.
His idols — Jeanloup Sieff and Lillian Bassman initially, then later Steven Meisel, Rodney Smith and Ellen von Unwerth, just to name a few — imbued romance with sophistication, chicness, and a hint of humor.
It’s this sense of aliveness and fun and spontaneity that Andy brings to the wedding scene.
‘‘Why do Andy’s couples look like they’re having so much fun?’’
Because they are.
‘‘But I’m shy and awkward in front of a camera.’’
Yes, nearly everybody feels this way — at first.
The good news is when you work with a top-flight professional, inhibitions naturally melt away, usually within a few minutes.
As Andy likes to say, ‘‘The best photographers don’t simply give their clients better photographs; they give their clients a better, smoother experience.’’
Well you came here for a bio, so here’s a few quick biographical details:
Andy was raised in Australia. He moved to U.S. in his early 20s and today is married with four kids, one dog, and two coffee machines. The recipient of numerous industry awards, he has given guest lectures to hundreds of art students. After 1,000 weddings, he continues to push himself to new creative heights, always remembering what made him fall in love with photography in the first place: the mystery, beauty, passion and delight of finding the person you were meant to spend the rest of your life with.
